  Larry D. Connell
    March 13, 1948 - June 6, 2015
Larry Deane Connell, 67, of Georgetown, passed from this world Saturday,
June 6, 2015, after a two month painful, valiantly brave battle with pancreatitis
caused by a gallstone blockage. He was born March 13, 1948 in Stamford,
Texas to Fred and Jody Connell. His wife of 35 years, Susan Garrett Connell
and his son Garrett Connell, 23, grieve his passing, with many cherished happy
family memories of times and trips together. His spirit and example will
always be with them. Their love for him will never end.
In addition to being a loving and devoted family man and a faithful, inspiring
friend to many, Larry was a prominent, successful Georgetown businessman,
owning and managing Southwestern University Campus Bookstore for 29
years and Golf on the Square for 19 years and a long-time Williamson County
Real-Estate broker. He served his country as an Army Lieutenant and
served his communities as a Mineral Wells Jaycee, a member of the Georgetown
Noon Lions Club and member of Georgetowns Grace Episcopal Church.
Larry was a kind, fun person. He most enjoyed playing golf with his buddies
at Georgetown Country Club and other golf courses across the country. His bucket
list goal of playing golf in every state of the union was nearly reached! He was
a bigger than life people person deluxe, who practiced generosity and who said
he just wanted to make people happy and be a good person!
He will be grieved, missed and loved greatly by all additional family members.
They include sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Lynn Bratton of Burnet; sister
and brother-in-law, Sherry and Bobby Haggerton of Brownwood; brother and
sister-in-law, Stephen and Stephanie Connell of Austin; brother-in-laws,
Bill Garrett of Thorndale and Tom Garrett of Austin; nephews Terry Bratton,
Mark Wilson and Christian Connell; nieces Deborah Pruett, Isabella Connell,
Shelley Ringo, Misty Miller and Vickie Schaffer; cousins, Barbie and Ray
Hohertz, Donna Moore, Patti Kirkeby, Jackie Null, Junie Roberts, and
a multitude of extended family everywhere, including countless loving Connells
of Killeen and beyond, attesting to his abiding Irish heritage.
Peace to you Larry. Pain and worry are gone. You are an angel now. Fly away.
You are free to touch us with your happiness. Well be united bye and bye. We
love you!
