I am so sad to hear this news. Paul and I were kids growing up together at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico. Our fathers were transfered to Dyess AFB in 1963.

I spoke with Paul late in 2008 and am sorry to hear of his death. We first met at Madison Jr. High and I never ceased to be amazed at his artistic talents.

I was shocked to just reat about Paul's passing! What great memories I have of this tall lanky fella with the very blondy hair and great sense of humor! Paul and I grew up together; our father's were in the Air Force together along with Mark Radzinki's Dad. Seems we were all three ending up saying good-bye and hello again, just at different times as our father's were transferred from one base to another...Roswell, New Mexico (we never saw Martians though), Dyess AFB, etc. Paul swam competitively on the Cooper/Abilene Swim Team ...the breaststroke (honest, that tall body could really slither through the water with just his head showing on top of the water)! Can you imagine us wearing those little black Speedos? Never mind...don't go there! What great times we had on swim meets out-of-town and after practices! Johnny Radford, Danny Wood, Mike Davis, Paul McClendon, and ahost of others. Wow...you could never miss Paul walking down those hallowed hallways at Cooper either!!! God bless you, Paul, and your family! Thanks for the many memories. In sadness, "Bo" Pearson

I hate reading this. Not only for Paul, but for David too. We spent every day of the summers out at the Dyess Officers Club pool. David was a lifeguard and Paul and Bo Pearson ran around in their speedos. Not seeing either one of them in over 40 years, does't make it any easier to hear the news. God Bless their families.

Was so sorry to see that Paul has passed away.  I was an MYF buddy of Paul's.  We had a lot of fun times at Aldersgate and at Lake Brownwood on MYF retreats.  We always had a big retreat the first weekend after school was out.  It ALWAYS rained and was freezing cold, but we loved it, and never changed the date.  (Could always use the rain in West Texas!)  Paul was SO friendly and always ready to pitch in and help or get the ball rollin' - whatever needed to be done!  My folks really enjoyed knowing him too, and are so sorry for his loss.  Paul was one of the good guys!!!  Classmate '67
