

Charles "Chuck" Ratliff

Charles "Chuck" Ratliff, age 76, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at home surrounded by family in Comanche, Texas.
He was born October 25, 1947, in Dublin, Texas, to Arch and Dorothy (Court) Ratliff. On Jan. 28, 1967, he was united in marriage to Carolyn in Abilene, Texas. He was a deacon at Pearl Street Church of Christ in Comanche, Texas. He served in the United States Marine Corp, where he became one the youngest sergeants in the Marine Corp. He bravely fought in Vietnam where he served two tours in combined action company and received purple hearts. He worked for Duncanville Police Department where he served as a juvenile officer, sergeant of Criminal Investigation Department and worked as a narcotics officer. He received the police officer of the year award in 1976 and later retired after 23 years in the Duncanville Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Amanda Thomasson, and husband, Scott; one grandson, Brandon Thomasson, and wife, Morgan; one granddaughter, Bailey Rudolph, and husband, Chase; two great-grandson, Rhen Rudolph and Graysen Gray; three great-granddaughters, Reighn Rudolph, Ryleigh Thomasson, and Kenley Cooley; brother, Colonel Arch Ratliff, Jr. and wife, Pinkie; brother-in-law, A.G. Robertson and wife, Kay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Dorothy (Court) Ratliff and brother, David Ratliff.
