Don moved in to Cooper High School from California with a surfer hair do, great smile, and talent in baseball. He dated Cristy and we travelled together with his mom to baseball games. Oh, and he could dance too. I remember him dancing and singing to "momma told me not to come..." - wow, where do these memories come from? Whenever I hear that song, I always think of Don and Cristy dancing and laughing. I wish I would have kept up with his mom and family. He was a great, sweet guy and though I cannot remember the date - I remember Cristy calling when she heard the news of his death. We have missed him ever since. I think I have a picture of Don and Cristy on the dock at Lake Cisco. I will look for the little black and white photo taken with Cris's "Swinger" camera - remember those? We love you, Don...

Ah...surfer "guy". Thanks for the memories, Jeannie! I just had to smile when I looked at Don's picture - fine memories.

Don lived in Montgomery, Alabama prior to moving to Abilene. He attended Sidney Lanier High School in the 10th grade here and was well loved by his many friends. Just as he touched the students at Cooper with his grin, and personality, so did he leave us with great memories. We are saddened to learn of his passing. Boogie on dear Don! We'll see you again one day and dance to "Baby I'm Yours"...
