I work in the OR at Harborview Medical Center, a Level One Trauma Center, in Seattle, WA. I love it!! We receive trauma from an area known as WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana & Idaho). So if you cut anything off, we put it back on! You break anything bad, we fix it! Don't have many babies here unless Mom's in an accident & we don't do open heart surgery unless it's related to trauma. I've been a nurse for 40 years. Lived & worked in the DFW area as a nurse for Children's Med Ctr in Dallas, a private pediatrician, the Dept of Surgery @ Southwestern Med School, Spacelabs (a medical monitoring company that required you be a BSN) & HMC for 22 yrs. Lived in L.A. for a year & Seattle since1985. Lived in India for a year teaching nurses and traveled to England, France, Italy, Germany & points between for business & pleasure.
Fortunately have reached the age where everything hurts but it's OK. Retired in 2011.
